Root beer Float Cookies


1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
½ cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 tsp. root beer extract
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups flours
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 375.  Mix all ingredients in order.  Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart.  Bake 10-12 minutes.  Cool completely.  Spread frosting on cookies.  Let dry.

Frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 TBSP half + half (but you can use regular milk)
2 tsp. butter
1 tsp. root beer extract

Mix together.  You just put a little on each cookie and then let it harden up.  Once the frosting is hardened, you should be able to stack them without them mushing together.
