Baked Potato Soup

4 large baking potatoes (or 6 medium)
2/3 cup margarine
2/3 cup flour
6 cups milk
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 green onions (chopped)
bacon slices (cooked crisp and crumbled)
1 1/4 cups shredded cheese
8 oz. sour cream

Cook potatoes and cool.  Cut in half and scoop out.  Melt margarine and add flour, cook for 1 minute.  Gradually add milk and cook until thick and bubbling, stirring constantly.  Add potatoes, salt, pepper, 2 tsp. green onions, 1/2 cups bacon, and 1 cup cheese.  Cook till heated (keep on low so it will not burn).  Stir in sour cream.  Serve with remaining green onions, bacon and cheese as garnish.  Serves appx. 8
