Blue Ribbon Chili

2 lbs ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic salt (or real garlic)
1 (8 oz.) jar salsa (like Pace Picante)
4 T. chili seasoning mix
1 (15 oz.) can light red kidney beans
1 (15 oz.) can dark red kidney beans
2 1/2 c. tomato sauce

In large saucepan over medium heat, combine ground beef and the onion and saute for 20 minutes or until meat is browned and onion is tender.  Drain grease.  Throw into your crockpot and add black pepper, garlic salt, tomato sauce, salsa, chili seasoning mix, and kidney beans.  Cook on low for appx. 8 hours.  Yields: 8 servings
